mind movies
I read a book recently by Dr. Joe Dispenza called Becoming Supernatural. He is known for his scientific research on how you can rewire your brain to heal your mind and body. I won’t try to go into more detail as I don’t want to twist up his information (his books are must reads!!!) but I had an awesome takeaway I wanted to share from the book on mind movies. I’m sure you’ve read The Secret and learned about the vision boards? Well, this is the modern day more effective way for visualization.
Mind Movies are 3 minute videos of your “perfect life” using images, affirmations, music and other inspiring content that make up your dreams and goals. You watch it every day so that your brain starts to believe and feel like you already have those things. What you think about, you bring about! It’s the Law of Attraction!
I hadn’t watched mine in a month or two and decided to check it out the other day. I was amazed when I realized that there were things that had already come true!!! Maybe not in the exact capacity I had imagined but I was not specific in the mind movie, so the Universe produced what I presented to it. Wow! This stuff really does work! I manifested some of my dreams in just a couple months! Now I’m making a new one with more precise dreams and goals.
Here is how I created mine. (I’m sure it’s not the most fancy or up to date way to do it but I just was testing the mind movie capabilities and it was free!)
First make a list of about 20 goals/desires. Try to be kind of specific. For my example, I made a slide with a woman overlooking a beautiful horizon and wrote “traveling makes me happy!” I hadn’t gone on any trips in like a year and have a big desire to travel. I realized after replaying the movie, it basically came true. I’ve actually taken a few trips in the last couple months, and they totally happened unconsciously. I was vague about where to travel because I was skeptical my mind would even believe I could go traveling.
Create slides/photos using your favorite content creator/editor. I used Canva and just made an Instagram post, added a photo, and wrote the goal/desire. I repeated for my 20 or so slides. You don’t need to have a goal on every slide. You can just post pictures of places or things you want. I did all the slides on one project so when I downloaded on my phone, they all showed up together in my photo album.
Use iMovie app to create a movie. This app was free and super simple to use. Create a new project- movie. Then you can select all your photos that you want to add to the movie. Note: It adds them in the order that you select them, so that is why I downloaded them all to my photo album together so that I could select them in the order I wanted easier. I’m a slight perfectionist and wanted all them all grouped together by career, finances, relationships, family, etc.
Choose and add a song from your iTunes. This is the soundtrack to your life’s dreams and desires. Choose something that sticks in your brain and makes you insanely happy or emotional.
That’s pretty much all there is to it. Again, being the perfectionist I am, I edited it to make the slideshow and music timed perfectly to my liking. Some slides didn’t make the cut nor did some of the songs. Trial and error.
I stepped up my game on the new mind movie and look forward to these dreams coming true. Be a believer and magic will happen. The Universe wants to give you what your mind sees. Don’t worry about the how or when, just believe.
