book reading beginnings

There are a few books I read that sparked my interest and introduced me to awareness.  It’s where the work began.  They didn’t change me in a day but the words and practices resonated with me and I still go back to them today. 

1.     The Secret by Rhonda Byrne

2.     The Magic by Rhonda Byrne

3.     The Power by Rhonda Byrne

Her words and practices really spoke to me and I just kept going with anything Rhonda. 

4.     The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod

I loved SAVERS and made it part of my daily routine.  The getting up earlier was tough but eventually worth it.  I started buying fun journals and colorful pens for my daily affirmations and gratitude writing.  Something about them made the morning more exciting!  Now to choose my next book! 

I have always been athletic and know that exercise is a necessity for my health and mood so that was already incorporated into my day.  I always struggled with my weight and mindset about it, so I read every diet book around. I don’t want to count those as MM reading but they led me to discover many other great health and wellness influencers.  When I was doing a MLM weight loss program, I went to a conference and saw some amazing speakers that kick started my personal growth journey as well.

6.     Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus by John Gray

I don’t remember how I was introduced to Bulletproof coffee but I was an instant fan and drink it every day!

7.     The Bulletproof Diet by Dave Asprey 

Dave’s podcast introduced me to more great speakers and books and I started reading more and more.  Healthy body, healthy mind right? The story I told myself back then was that my health and what I was eating had to be the reason I can’t “change” my mind.  Next diet books..

8.     The Virgin Diet by JJ Virgin

9.     The Wild Diet by Abel James

I started listening to their podcasts as well and so many interviews started pointing back to mindset.  Is my mind really why I’m not losing weight?  I thought it was what I was putting in my body?  I need to check into this mindset thing.  I was so fixated on the food, nutrition, and exercise that I never even thought to check my head.  Introduce next influencer and lesson..

10.  The School of Greatness by Lewis Howes

This is where my wheels really started spinning.  He talked about his Millionaire Morning, similar to SAVERS, I was hooked.  Change your morning, change your life!! Tell me more, tell me more.  I want more for my life!  I want to find my passion!  I want to love my life!  I want to be an entrepreneur!  I’ve got my morning practice down, when does my life change?  I’m waiting….
