wake up
Awareness is the knowledge of a situation or fact. Self-Awareness is the conscious knowledge of one's own character, feelings, motives, and desires. How aware are you? Do you wake up happy and excited every day? Are you doing work you love? Do you have amazing relationships? If you answered yes to all of these, LUCKY YOU!! Maybe those questions have never crossed your mind? If you are like the majority, these questions spark feelings of sadness, doubt, and uncertainty. We get so caught up in day to day life, we don’t always slow down and become aware of what’s even going on. If you don’t get fully present to your life, you will miss out.
I went many years thinking my time was coming but things didn’t seem to change. I ended up repeating past behaviors and making decisions that didn’t get me any closer to where I wanted to be. I was never fully aware of how I was getting in my own way. I placed blame on other people and things and did not take accountability for MY part in MY OWN life. I finally broke down. I was sick and tired of being sick and tired and had to make a change. Where do I even begin? How do I stop reading and thinking about change and actually transform my life?
I share this because I know I’m not the only one who has been in this situation. They say that people on their death bed wish they would’ve been more, done more, and seen more. I don’t want to end up that way! Days, Months, Years go by and you wake up one day asking WTF happened to my life? It’s never too late to change your direction and go after everything you wanted. I know it seems impossible. I felt like I dug myself in such a hole that it would take me eternity to climb out. But that’s not the case. Do you see how quickly and drastically people’s lives can change? What if you just changed one little thing a week? One new habit, one new thought, one new activity. If you worked on one new thing a week that is 52 new things a year! Would that make a difference in your life? Absolutely!!
I share with you some of the things I’ve learned the last couple years on my journey. Remember, that is exactly what this life is, a journey. You were meant to experience everything in your life up until this point. Don’t regret one moment. Bring awareness to everything that has happened in your life up until this point and put together a timeline. What are the turning points? What happened? What lesson did you learn? How did you feel?
Now remember, that is the past. It cannot be changed. It’s happened. Over and done with and does not exist anymore. Acknowledge that, accept it, and move on.

Awareness is where we start.
